Wisconsin wrestling will compete at the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships beginning March 19 in Cleveland, Ohio, according to a statement released on Mar. 17. The tournament will take place over three days at Rocket Arena, with six Badgers aiming for All-American honors and a national title.

The event marks the conclusion of Wisconsin’s postseason. The team recently performed well at the Big Ten Championships, where wrestlers Zan Fugitt, Joseph Zargo, and Wyatt Ingham led with notable results. Fugitt finished fourth at 133 pounds after defeating Michigan’s Gauge Botero and reaching the third-place match. Zargo secured fifth place at 149 pounds by advancing to the semifinals and winning in consolation rounds. Ingham earned his spot at nationals with a major decision over Rutgers’ Cotton and finished fifth at 197 pounds.

Wisconsin has maintained a consistent presence at the NCAA Championships in recent years. From 2021 through 2025, Badger wrestlers have collected ten All-American honors across five tournaments. Notable performances include Eric Barnett’s eighth-place finish in 2021 and fourth place in 2024, as well as All-American finishes from Austin Gomez, Dean Hamiti, Trent Hillger, and most recently Fugitt’s fourth-place result in 2025.

This year’s first-round matchups feature Nicolar Rivera (125), Zan Fugitt (133), Joseph Zargo (149), Luke Mechler (157), Cody Goebel (165), Luke Condon (174), Wyatt Ingham (197), and Braxton Amos (285) facing opponents from schools including Princeton, Gardner-Webb, Nebraska, South Dakota State, Oklahoma State, Bellarmine, and Oklahoma.

Live coverage of all sessions will be available on ESPN2, ESPNU, and ESPN throughout the tournament. Fans can follow updates via Wisconsin Wrestling’s social media accounts on X/Twitter (@BadgerWrestling), Facebook, and Instagram.
