NC State freshman wrestler Will Denny has been named ACC Wrestler of the Week, according to an announcement by the Atlantic Coast Conference on December 16.
Denny, who competes at 165 pounds, earned this recognition following his victory over Ohio State’s No. 11 Paddy Gallagher in a sudden victory match that ended 6-5 last Friday. This win adds to Denny’s achievements in his first collegiate season.
Earlier in November, Denny also secured a win against No. 5 Ryder Downey of Northern Iowa at the National Duals Invitational. As a result of these performances, Denny is currently ranked No. 15 nationally at 165 pounds in the InterMat individual rankings.
“Will Denny has been named the ACC Wrestler of the Week,” stated the conference Tuesday.
