No. 6 Virginia Tech Wrestling is set to host the 2026 ACC Wrestling Championships at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg on March 8. The event will begin at 10 a.m. with first-round matches, followed by semifinals at 2 p.m. and finals at 8 p.m. Fans can watch the entire championship live on the ACC Network.

Virginia Tech enters the tournament after an 11-3 overall record for the season and an undefeated 6-0 run in conference play, marking their first perfect ACC season since 2020-21. Their victories included wins over ranked teams such as No. 14 Pitt, No. 24 Stanford, No. 8 NC State, No. 13 North Carolina, and Duke, outscoring conference opponents by a margin of 148-74.

In addition to four ranked conference wins during the regular season, Virginia Tech secured three more top-25 victories against then-No. 7 NC State, No. 15 Illinois, and No. 24 Wyoming at the National Duals Invitational in November.

The team’s performance has been supported by both experienced wrestlers and new talent from one of the nation’s top recruiting classes. True freshmen Aaron Seidel and Collin Gaj contributed significantly; Seidel finished undefeated in conference matches at 133 pounds while Gaj earned two top-10 wins against ACC opponents.

Redshirt sophomore Jimmy Mullen added a title win at the Keystone Classic to his achievements this year and redshirt senior Eddie Ventresca won the Southern Scuffle title in January after six straight victories.

During back-to-back meets on January 30 and February 6, Virginia Tech defeated No. 8 NC State—handing them their first home loss since 2019—and followed up with a win over Virginia for their fourteenth consecutive victory against that program.

The championship is expected to draw attention from wrestling fans across Southwest Virginia as teams compete for conference honors this Sunday at Cassell Coliseum.
