Virginia Tech wrestling has released its schedule for the 2025-2026 season. Head coach Tony Robie announced that the Hokies will host two major events at Cassell Coliseum: a dual meet against preseason No. 3 Oklahoma State and the 2026 ACC Championships.
The Hokies, who are ranked in the top ten in preseason polls, enter the season as defending ACC champions. The team features one NCAA champion, two returning All-Americans, three conference champions, and eight NCAA qualifiers. They also add the No. 4 ranked 2025 recruiting class and three transfers to their roster while returning four starters from last season, including Caleb Henson—an NCAA champion and multi-time All-American—and Eddie Ventresca, an ACC champion and two-time All-American.
The schedule begins with home events: the Southeast Open at Roanoke College on November 2 and a dual against Bucknell on November 7 at Cassell Coliseum. The team then travels for six consecutive competitions, starting with the inaugural National Duals Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma from November 15-16. This event will feature a bracket of sixteen top teams from across the country.
Other notable road events include the Keystone Classic in Philadelphia on November 23; Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational from December 5-6; Patriot Open at George Mason on December 7; Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga on January 3-4; and an ACC matchup against Pittsburgh on January 9.
Virginia Tech returns home for matches against Appalachian State at Moss Arts Center on January 16 and Stanford University on January 23. The Hokies face rival NC State in Raleigh on January 30 before traveling to Charlottesville to compete against Virginia in the Commonwealth Clash on February 6.
To close out their dual schedule, Virginia Tech hosts North Carolina (February 13), Oklahoma State (February 15), and Duke (February 20) at Cassell Coliseum. On February 22, some wrestlers may compete at George Mason’s Patriot Last Chance Open.
Blacksburg will host the ACC Championships for the first time since 2019. Four of seven ACC teams are ranked in preseason top-25 polls. The Hokies aim to defend their league title during this event scheduled for March 8.
The season concludes with participation in the Division I NCAA Championships held March 19-21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
“Known for compiling one of the most competitive schedules in the country, the Hokies will once again be battle tested throughout the course of the season culminating in Cleveland, OH for the 2026 Division I NCAA Championships,” said head coach Tony Robie.
