After a seven-year hiatus, the ACC Wrestling Championship is set to return to Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg on Sunday, March 8. Virginia Tech will host the event as the defending champion and enters the tournament ranked sixth nationally after finishing atop the Atlantic Coast Conference during the regular season.
The Hokies have ten ranked wrestlers competing and aim to defend their ACC Tournament title while seeking to qualify all ten for the NCAA Championships. The conference has allocated 39 automatic qualifying spots for this year’s NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, matching its previous record from 2022. These allocations are distributed across all ten weight classes, with criteria based on win percentage, coaches’ rankings, and RPI ranking through February 23.
ACC Championship seeds were announced on March 3. Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca and freshman Aaron Seidel secured top seeds in their respective weight classes. The seeding process combined WrestleStat.com rankings with votes from head coaches of the league’s seven teams. Top-seeded wrestlers receive byes into the quarterfinals at each weight class. Full brackets are available at https://theacc.co/26wrestbrackets.
The championship schedule begins at 10 a.m. ET with first-round matches, followed by consolation rounds throughout the day and finals starting at 8 p.m. ET. Nearly twelve hours of live coverage will be provided by ACC Network Extra for early rounds and ACC Network for finals. Fans can access live results at https://theacc.co/26wrestlivestats and follow updates via Hokies Wrestling social media channels.
