Ten Sun Devil wrestlers named NWCA Scholar All-Americans for academic achievement

The National Wrestling Coaches Association announced on Apr. 2 that ten Arizona State University wrestling student-athletes have been named NCAA Division I Men’s Scholar All-Americans, tying with Missouri for the most honorees in the country.

The recognition highlights academic excellence among college wrestlers nationwide. The awards are given to student-athletes who have shown strong performance both on the mat and in their studies.

Six of the ten honored Sun Devils were also NCAA qualifiers: Colton Hawks, Kaleb Larkin, Pierson Manville, Nicco Ruiz, David Szuba, and Cael Valencia. Following the conclusion of the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships, Szuba and Ruiz earned additional distinction as All-Americans.

The full list of Arizona State’s Scholar All-Americans includes Shay Addison (Marketing – Digital), Benji Alanis (Liberal Studies), Colton Hawks (Nondegree seeking), Kaleb Larkin (Computer Science), Pierson Manville (Business Administration), Chance Mclane (Real Estate), Nicco Ruiz (Political Science), David Szuba (Emergency Management and Homeland Security), Cael Valencia (Artificial Intelligence in Business), and An’ee Vigil (Liberal Studies).
