Sun Devils’ wrestlers Manville and Randall triumph at U20 Pan-American Championships

Manville and Randall secured titles at the U20 Pan-American Championships in Lima, Peru. Pierson Manville won gold in the 67 kg Greco-Roman weight division, while Jude Randall took gold in the 72 kg category.

“Both Jude Randall and Pierson Manville secured gold at the U20 Pan-Am Games for Team USA,” announced Sun Devil Wrestling on Twitter.

In his 67 kg gold medal match, Manville defeated Brazil’s Lucas Da Silva by fall in 1:30, earning a decisive 10-1 victory. Meanwhile, Randall claimed the 72 kg title with a narrow 3-1 win against Jorge Gomez Garcia of Mexico. Kyler Larkin, an incoming freshman at Arizona State University, will compete for the United States in the 61 kg freestyle division.

The United States clinched the Greco-Roman team title, with Manville receiving recognition as the Golden Boot winner for Outstanding Wrestler. He achieved three pins and one tech-fall during his matches.

Manville reached the semifinals with two shutout victories in group A of the 67 kg class. He overcame Henry Figoeroa of Puerto Rico and Lucas Da Silva of Brazil with swift tech-falls. In the semifinals, he advanced to the finals by defeating Joao Montesinos Macedo of Peru.

Randall’s performance in the 72 kg weight class was equally impressive. He secured quick tech-fall victories over Luis Ariel Rosa of Puerto Rico and Enzo Antonio Pegorette of Brazil. In his semifinal match, he pinned Anthony Rubio Molina of Peru to earn a spot in the finals against Garcia.
