Lehigh University announced on Mar. 17 that six Mountain Hawks wrestlers have qualified for the 95th NCAA Championships, which will take place from March 19 to 21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. The qualifiers include graduate student Sheldon Seymour (125 pounds), sophomores Luke Stanich (141) and Logan Rozynski (157), seniors Max Brignola (165) and Nathan Taylor (285), and junior Rylan Rogers (184).
This development follows Lehigh’s recent victory at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) team championship, where the team secured its 40th title and five individual champions. Five of the six NCAA qualifiers earned top ten seeds, marking Lehigh’s highest number of top-seeded wrestlers since 2018.
Five of the six athletes have previous experience at the NCAA Tournament, with only Rogers making his debut this year. Seymour is a returning All-American after finishing sixth last year, while Stanich seeks his second career medal following a fifth-place finish in 2024. Brignola and Taylor are both three-time qualifiers, and Rozynski returns for his second appearance.
Lehigh’s performance at the EIWA Championships included eight top-four finishes and several major awards. Senior Nathan Taylor received both the Sheridan Award for most falls in the fastest time and the Fletcher Trophy for most career team points scored at EIWA Championships. Head coach Pat Santoro was named EIWA Coach of the Year for the seventh time in his tenure.
The Mountain Hawks aim to improve upon their recent national results after finishing fifteenth each of the past two years. The program has a strong history with six national champions and 165 All-Americans but has not finished in the top ten nationally since 2012 or reached as high as second place since 1939.
The NCAA Championships will be broadcast across ESPN platforms, with every match available on ESPN+. Sessions will also air live on ESPN2, ESPNU, and ESPN throughout the three-day event.
