Oklahoma State University wrestler Sergio Vega has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week, marking the third consecutive week a Cowboy has received this honor. Vega, who competes in the 141-pound weight class, earned recognition following his performance at the National Duals Invitational.

Vega is the third Oklahoma State freshman to win the award this season, joining teammates Zack Ryder and Landon Robideau. This achievement represents a first in Big 12 history, as no other school has had freshmen claim the award in three straight weeks.

During the National Duals Invitational, Vega went undefeated with four wins. Three of those victories were against All-American opponents. Notably, he secured a 13-2 major decision over Brock Hardy, a three-time All-American and NCAA finalist who had not given up bonus points in any of his previous 31 matches last season. Vega also defeated All-Americans Nassir Bailey and Ryan Jack, as well as NCAA qualifier Josh Saunders. With these results, Vega now holds wins over wrestlers ranked No. 2, No. 7, and No. 9 nationally within just five matches into his collegiate career.
