No. 14 Rutgers wrestling achieved a 24-12 victory over Navy in a neutral-site match held in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Saturday. The Scarlet Knights improved their record to 4-0 for the season, while Navy fell to 0-2.

Rutgers secured seven wins out of ten matches against the Midshipmen. Bonus-point victories came from No. 12 Shane Cartagena-Walsh at 184 pounds and No. 25 Anthony White at 157 pounds.

The match began with Rutgers establishing a strong lead through three consecutive decisions, including ranked wins by No. 7 Dylan Shawver at 133 pounds and Ayden Smith at 125 pounds. This gave the Scarlet Knights an early advantage of 9-0.

Navy narrowed the gap to within seven points after Kaemen Smith defeated Andrew Clark of Rutgers by technical fall at 149 pounds and Danny Wask won by major decision over Lenny Pinto at 174 pounds. However, Rutgers extended its lead with a technical fall from Cartagena-Walsh and a decision win by No. 20 Remy Cotton at 197 pounds.

The final score was secured after Spencer Lanosga of Navy won the heavyweight bout against Hunter Catka of Rutgers, but it was not enough to close the deficit.

Rutgers will next compete in the Keystone Classic on November 23 in Philadelphia following a week off from competition.
