Several student-athletes from Rutgers wrestling competed at the Bloomsburg Open on Jan. 25 at Liberty Arena in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The event saw strong performances from both attached and unattached Rutgers competitors. Jordan Chapman, wrestling at 174 pounds, and Joseph Olivieri, competing at 141 pounds, each won individual titles while competing unattached. Olivieri finished with a perfect 4-0 record, including one win by fall and two by technical fall. Chapman went undefeated in three matches to secure his title over Connor Wetzel of Lock Haven.

Easton Doster also competed unattached at 157 pounds and placed third after finishing with a 4-1 record. The only attached wrestler for Rutgers was Max Hermes, who competed in the 157-pound bracket and picked up two victories during the tournament.

The results highlight the depth of talent within the Rutgers wrestling program as both attached and unattached athletes found success against competitors from other schools such as Lock Haven, Lehigh, Bucknell, Penn State, Hofstra, Columbia, Drexel, Wyoming Seminary, and others.

As the season continues, these performances may provide momentum for Rutgers wrestlers preparing for upcoming competitions.
