Lehigh University sophomore Logan Rozynski has been named the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Wrestler of the Week, according to an announcement made Tuesday. Rozynski achieved this recognition after competing at the National Duals Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he recorded two wins and one loss for the Mountain Hawks.

Rozynski’s performance was highlighted by a 9-1 major decision over Antrell Taylor of Nebraska, who is the defending NCAA champion at 157 pounds. In that match, Rozynski secured a takedown and a four-point near fall late in the first period to establish a 7-0 lead. He then added an escape and benefited from a penalty point during the final four minutes to complete his victory.

He also defeated Chance McLane of Arizona State with a 2-1 decision in Lehigh’s second dual meet of the day but fell 8-2 against Kannon Webster from Illinois. All three wrestlers Rozynski faced were nationally ranked competitors.

As a result of these performances, Rozynski moved up to No. 10 in the latest InterMat rankings and No. 13 in FloWrestling’s rankings, after being previously ranked No. 19 and No. 23 in those polls.

The Mountain Hawks are scheduled to host Pittsburgh on Friday, December 5 at Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall for their home opener, which will begin at 7 p.m.

The current wrestling season for Lehigh is presented by Historic Hotel Bethlehem.
