The Oklahoma State wrestling team defeated Cornell 22-12 in the opening round of the National Duals Invitational, which took place Saturday morning at the BOK Center in Tulsa. The event was sponsored by Paycom.

Oklahoma State, ranked fifth nationally, secured six victories out of ten matches, earning bonus points in three bouts. With this win, Oklahoma State improved its season record to 2-0, while Cornell started its campaign at 0-1.

“That was a very scrappy dual,” coach David Taylor said. “That was a team effort. It wasn’t about the individuals; it was about the team. As a team, we need to improve, and that’s why we’re here.”
