Oklahoma State University announced that its wrestling match against No. 3 Iowa, scheduled for February 22 at Gallagher-Iba Arena, will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 with a new start time of 5 p.m. The dual was initially set to begin at 2 p.m.
This season, the Cowboys will appear in front of a national television audience at least twice during dual meets. Their other confirmed televised matchup is against No. 2 Nebraska on December 21, which will air on the Big Ten Network. If Oklahoma State reaches the final of this weekend’s National Duals Invitational, it could add a third national TV appearance to its schedule this year.
This marks the third consecutive season that Oklahoma State has had multiple wrestling duals broadcast nationally.
Oklahoma State leads the historical series with Iowa, holding a record of 29-27-2 since their rivalry began in 1954. Both programs are recognized as the most successful in college wrestling history, having won a combined total of 58 NCAA championships and produced 231 individual national champions. These accomplishments account for more than half of all NCAA team titles awarded and place both teams first and second in all-time team titles, individual champions, and All-Americans lists.
