Oklahoma State University announced on Mar. 16 the six former athletes who will be inducted into the OSU Athletics Hall of Honor as the class of 2026. The inductees are Tony Allen (men’s basketball), Chase Jackson (women’s track and field), Dick Hutton (wrestling), Hunter Mahan (men’s golf), Vanessa Shippy-Fletcher (softball), and James Washington (football). The official induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, October 9.
The Hall of Honor recognizes outstanding contributions by former student-athletes to Oklahoma State athletics. With these additions, the total number of members in the Hall will reach 99. The selection process involved a screening committee made up of OSU Athletics coaches and staff, who narrowed down eligible candidates to about 50. A separate selection committee, consisting of individuals affiliated with but not employed by OSU Athletics, then voted on the final honorees.
Tony Allen played men’s basketball from 2002 to 2004 and was named an All-American before being drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. He later won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics and had his jersey retired by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2025. Chase Jackson competed in women’s track and field from 2013 to 2016, becoming a two-time shot put world champion and representing Team USA at the Paris Olympics.
Dick Hutton wrestled for Oklahoma State between 1947 and 1950, winning three NCAA individual championships and competing in the Olympics. Hunter Mahan played men’s golf from 2002 to 2003, earning national player of the year honors and later winning six PGA Tour events. Vanessa Shippy-Fletcher starred in softball from 2015 to 2018 as a three-time All-American and set multiple school records. James Washington played football from 2014 to 2017, winning the Biletnikoff Award as college football’s top receiver while setting school records for receiving yards.
Tickets for the induction ceremony will go on sale during the summer.
