No. 2 Ohio State wrapped up its 2025-26 wrestling dual season with a 29-16 victory over Maryland at the Schanwald Pavilion in College Park on Sunday. The Buckeyes, now holding an 18-1 overall record and a 7-1 mark in Big Ten competition, secured wins in six matches, all by bonus points.
Ohio State started strong at the lighter weights. At 125 pounds, Nic Bouzakis won by technical fall over Abram Cline with a score of 15-0. Ben Davino followed at 133 pounds with an 11-2 major decision against Braxton Brown. Jesse Mendez continued the streak at 141 pounds, pinning Dario Lemus at the 4:04 mark after building a substantial lead through multiple takedowns.
Maryland responded with victories at the next two weights. Carter Young defeated Brogan Fielding by major decision (14-3) at 149 pounds, while Mekhi Neal earned a decision over Daxton Chase (4-1) at 157 pounds.
Paddy Gallagher restored momentum for Ohio State at 165 pounds with a technical fall win (23-7) over AJ Rodrigues. In the following match, Seth Digby edged T.J. Schierl in sudden victory (4-1) for Maryland.
At 184 pounds, Dylan Fishback delivered another major decision for Ohio State, winning 17-4 against Sepantra Ahanj-Elias. Branson John then picked up Maryland’s final win of the day by pinning Luke Geog in the second period of their match at 197 pounds.
Nick Feldman closed out the dual for Ohio State with a technical fall (19-3) over Joey Schneck in the heavyweight division.
With this result, Ohio State concludes its regular season and will begin preparations for the Big Ten Championships scheduled for March 7-8 at Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania.
