Ohio State Buckeyes wrestling to open dual season against UT Chattanooga

No. 5 Ohio State will begin its 2025-26 dual wrestling season on Sunday, November 9, facing UT Chattanooga at McKenzie Arena. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be available via live stream on ESPN+.

In preparation for the dual season, Ohio State competed at the 2025 Clarion Open last weekend, where six Buckeyes earned titles in their respective weight classes. Brendan McCrone (125 lbs.), Ben Davino (133 lbs.), Paddy Gallagher (165 lbs.), Dylan Fishback (184 lbs.), Luke Geog (197 lbs.), and Nick Feldman (heavyweight) each won their matches.

Jesse Mendez, a three-time All-American and two-time defending national champion at 141 pounds for Ohio State, started his season with a win over No. 6 Anthony Echemendia of Iowa State at the 2025 NWCA All-Star Championships. Mendez secured a 7-3 victory in that matchup.

The Buckeyes enter this season with a roster that includes 12 NCAA qualifiers who have made a combined total of 22 NCAA championship appearances.

After facing UT Chattanooga, Ohio State will participate in the 2025 National Duals on November 15-16 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The team will open against Wyoming, with the winner advancing to compete against either Virginia Tech or Minnesota. – Dylan Fishback vs. Landon Jones at 184 lbs.
– Luke Geog vs. Logan Webster or Kade Rule at 197 lbs.
– Nick Feldman vs. Ethan Vergara in the heavyweight category.
