The University of North Carolina wrestling team, ranked 12th nationally, will host Stanford University on Friday evening at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACCNX.

The match coincides with Senior Night, an occasion where the program will recognize several individuals for their contributions during their time at UNC. Those honored include GA athletic trainer Noah Hogrefe and wrestlers Charlie Darracott, Nicholas Fea, Max Martin, Ethan Oakley, Carson Tenold, Cade Tenold, and Kysen Terukina.

Last week, UNC faced sixth-ranked Virginia Tech in an Atlantic Coast Conference dual. Virginia Tech won eight bouts to defeat North Carolina 29-9. Nick O’Neill (141 pounds) secured a second-period fall—his first ACC victory—over No. 22 Tom Crook and now leads the team with six falls this season. Collin Carrigan (174 pounds) achieved a sudden-victory decision over No. 30 Sergio Desainte for his first dual and ACC win of the year.

This season marks the third year under head coach Rob Koll’s leadership. The Tar Heels added nine new members during the offseason, including transfers Bryce Hepner from Ohio State and Kysen Terukina from Iowa State. Both have become regular starters and together hold a combined record of 23-6 so far this season.

Six Tar Heel wrestlers are currently ranked in the weekly InterMat Wrestling rankings: Kysen Terukina (No. 13 at 125), Ethan Oakley (No. 27 at 133), Luke Simcox (No. 10 at 141), Laird Root (No. 27 at 157), Bryce Hepner (No. 16 at 165), and Jake Dailey (No. 15 at 184). As a team, North Carolina holds the No.12 spot in the NWCA Coaches Poll.

The probable lineup for Friday’s dual includes matchups such as Kysen Terukina facing Nico Provo at 125 pounds and Ethan Oakley meeting Tyler Knox at 133 pounds.
