Eighth-ranked NC State wrestling defeated Duke 32-7 in Durham, North Carolina, marking its final conference and road dual of the season. The Wolfpack improved to a 14-4 overall record and 5-1 in ACC competition after Friday night’s match at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
NC State secured victories in eight out of ten bouts against Duke, with only losses at the 125-pound and 174-pound weight classes. Seven of those eight wins were bonus point victories for the team.
After an initial loss at 125 pounds, NC State responded by winning the next five matches, building a substantial lead of 21-3. At heavyweight, Isaac Trumble recorded the team’s only ranked win by defeating No. 23 Connor Barket, who was a qualifier for the NCAA tournament in 2025. This victory brought Trumble’s season record to 13-0 and marked his ninth bonus point win.
The team will return home for its last dual meet of the season. Before that event begins on Friday at Reynolds Coliseum, NC State will recognize its graduating seniors: Don Cates, Aaron Faison, Troy Hohman, Ryan Jack, Andrew Macchiavello, and Isaac Trumble.
