NC State’s wrestling team, ranked ninth nationally, concluded the 2025 portion of its season with three home victories on Sunday at Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack improved its record to 8-3 after defeating The Citadel (29-12), George Mason (34-14), and Buffalo (42-3) in a quad-meet.
Sixteen wrestlers from NC State participated across the three duals. Patrick Brophy made his debut for the Wolfpack at 197 pounds and won all three of his matches, including one against his former team, The Citadel.
Heavyweight Isaac Trumble had a strong showing with two first-period pins and a technical fall, earning the most bonus points for the team. Alongside Brophy and Trumble, Zach Redding and Will Denny also went undefeated in their matches on Sunday.
Freshman Will Denny secured another win over a ranked opponent by defeating Thomas Snipes from The Citadel and followed up with a first-period pin against Buffalo’s Brady Unger.
At 141 pounds, Ryan Jack returned to form by winning both of his bouts—one by technical fall against The Citadel and another by pinning his George Mason opponent in the first period.
Three redshirt-freshmen—Jaydon Robinson, Luca Felix, and Pete Winterstein—were featured in different weight classes. Robinson earned a win at 141 pounds; Felix moved up to 157 pounds for a victory; Winterstein competed at 165 pounds. For Robinson and Winterstein, these were their first appearances in dual competition for NC State.
The Wolfpack will begin conference action at home on Friday, January 9, hosting Virginia at Reynolds Coliseum.
