The University of Missouri wrestling team finished in 14th place at the NCAA Wrestling Championships held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Tigers scored 32 points and had two wrestlers earn All-American honors: redshirt sophomore Cam Steed, who placed seventh, and senior Keegan O’Toole, who was runner-up in his weight class.

On the final day of competition, Steed secured a first-period fall against Oklahoma State’s Cam Amine to take seventh place. This marked Steed’s third pin of the tournament and his first victory over Amine.

O’Toole competed for the national title at 174 pounds against Dean Hamiti of Oklahoma State. The match remained tied through regulation time after a third-period takedown by Hamiti was reversed on video review. In overtime, Hamiti managed a decisive takedown to claim his first national title. O’Toole concludes his collegiate career as a five-time All-American.

Steed received the Gorriarran award for achieving the most pins in the least amount of time during the tournament, with three falls in seven minutes. He is now the fifth Missouri wrestler to win this award and helped Missouri become only the fourth team to win it in back-to-back seasons.

The Tigers’ finish marks their twelfth consecutive year placing among the top-15 teams at the NCAA Championships since 2013.

Reflecting on individual performances:
– Kade Moore (133 lbs), Josh Edmond (141 lbs), J Conway (157 lbs), and Colton Hawks (184 lbs) did not place.
– Steed surpassed teammate Kade Moore for most pins on the team this season with seven.
– O’Toole ends his career with two individual NCAA titles and a record of 24-3 at five NCAA tournaments.

Missouri continues its presence among leading wrestling programs with consistent performances and individual accolades at national competitions.
