Keegan O’Toole, a wrestler for the University of Missouri, has been named an Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators for the third time in his career. The announcement was made on July 9.
O’Toole is only the second wrestler from Missouri to receive this recognition three times, following Tyler McCormick who earned the honor from 2006 to 2008. This year marks O’Toole’s second consecutive appearance on the third team. He previously received second-team honors in 2023 and was placed on the third team in both 2024 and 2025.
During his final season with Missouri, O’Toole won the Big 12 Championship and finished as an NCAA All-American at 174 pounds, placing second. Originally from Hartland, Wisconsin, he completed the season with a record of 20-1. Eleven of his opponents were ranked, including three in the top five nationally, and he remained undefeated in regular-season duals at 8-0.
O’Toole achieved his 100th career win by pinning Caden Schmidt of Iowa State on February 22 after missing two months due to a torn ACL. At the NCAA Tournament, he went 4-1 and recorded a total of sixteen bonus-point wins for a .762 bonus rate this season. His overall career record stands at 108-5, which moved him past former coach Ben Askren for second place in program history with a .955 winning percentage.
In addition to these achievements, O’Toole was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Big 12 Championship and received Academic All-Big 12 and NWCA Scholar All-America honors.
