The University of Michigan wrestling team secured five All-America honors on March 20 during the second day of the NCAA Championships at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The Wolverines finished the day in eighth place out of 70 teams with a total of 48 points.

This achievement is significant for Michigan, as it marks the program’s highest number of All-Americans since 2022 and brings its historical total to 219. Head coach Sean Bormet has now coached 27 All-Americans since taking over in 2019.

Redshirt freshmen Cameron Catrabone and Brock Mantanona, along with redshirt sophomore Beau Mantanona, earned their first career NCAA All-America honors. Graduate students Lachlan McNeil and Taye Ghadiali also achieved this distinction for the first time while competing for Michigan. The Mantanonas became the fourth brother duo to earn All-America honors for Michigan, while Catrabone and his father joined an exclusive group as one of only five father-son duos to achieve this feat at the university.

Catrabone and Beau Mantanona delivered notable upsets against higher-seeded opponents in their respective bloodround matches. McNeil, Brock Mantanona, and Ghadiali each won their quarterfinal bouts to secure their All-American status but fell short in close semifinal contests later that evening.

The Wolverines will continue competition on Saturday, March 21, with placement matches scheduled for the morning session and finals set to begin at 7 p.m., broadcast live on ESPN. Penn State currently leads the team standings with 153 points.
