Lehigh University’s men’s wrestling team will begin its 2025-26 season with participation in two major events this weekend. Seniors Sheldon Seymour and Max Brignola are set to compete at the NWCA All-Star Classic, held at Rutgers’ Jersey Mike’s Arena on Saturday evening. The event starts at 7 p.m., with live streaming available through FloWrestling.org.

Seymour, who was an EIWA champion and earned All-American honors last season, is scheduled to face Eddie Ventresca of Virginia Tech in the 125-pound weight class. Brignola, returning after a deferred eligibility year, will take on Hunter Garvin from Stanford at 165 pounds.

The NWCA All-Star Classic opens with four women’s freestyle matches and a Division II versus Division III contest before moving to the Division I men’s bouts. Seymour’s match is fourth on the schedule for the men’s division, while Brignola’s bout is sixth.

On Sunday, Lehigh will send a large group of wrestlers to compete in the Princeton Open at Jadwin Gym in New Jersey. The tournament begins at 9 a.m., featuring action across 12 mats. ESPN+ will provide streaming coverage, and brackets along with live scoring can be accessed via FloArena.

Probable entrants for Lehigh include Matty Lopes (133), Carter Bailey and Seamus Mack (141), Kelvin Griffin, Matt Repos, Jadon Skellenger (149), Griffin Gonzalez and Zac Martin (157), Owen Quinn and Chase Van Hoven (165), Duncan Christensen, Zeke Dubler, Dom Federici, Keegan Gagnon, Liam Gil-Swiger, Richie Grungo, Justin Onello (174), Rylan Rogers, Jared Schoppe, Jack Wilt (184), Remy Brancato, JT Davis and Dontae Hoose (197). These entries are subject to change.

Last year saw 21 Lehigh wrestlers start their seasons at the Princeton Open. At that event, Seymour and Rozynski secured individual titles for Lehigh.

Earlier this week, Lehigh was ranked No. 8 in the NWCA Top 25 poll.

Looking ahead to next weekend’s schedule: “Next weekend, Lehigh will compete at Journeymen WrangleMania, Nov. 8 at Liberty High School, where the Mountain Hawks will wrestle duals against Duke (1:30 p.m.) and Virginia (3:30 p.m.). On Sunday, Nov. 9 the Mountain Hawks will compete at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic round-robin event at Freedom High School.”

The upcoming season for Lehigh men’s wrestling is presented by Historic Hotel Bethlehem.
