Jacob Moran and Gabe Sollars have been named to the Big Ten Conference’s preseason Wrestlers to Watch List. The announcement was made on Friday afternoon by the conference.
Moran, a sixth-year senior, and Sollars, a redshirt junior, both qualified for the 2025 NCAA Championships and secured multiple victories during the tournament.
Last season, Moran competed at 125 lbs., finishing with a record of 27-11. He placed fifth at the Big Ten Championships and fourth at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships. At the NCAA Championships, he won his opening match and advanced to the Round of 16 on the consolation side of the bracket.
Sollars ended his season with a 19-13 record at 197 lbs., earning ten bonus-point wins, including five pins. He finished ninth at the Big Ten Championships and second at Midlands. During the NCAA tournament, Sollars reached the Blood Round after winning his first two matches to advance to the quarterfinals.
Both wrestlers are set to compete in their respective weight classes again this season.
