Isaac Trumble has been named one of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Co-Wrestlers of the Year, following his victory at the 2026 NCAA Championships in Cleveland, according to a March 31 announcement from the conference.

The recognition highlights Trumble’s strong performance during his final collegiate wrestling season. He shares this honor with Aden Valencia from Stanford, both being national champions for their respective schools during the 2025-26 campaign.

Trumble, who hails from Springfield, Nebraska and spent six years with NC State’s wrestling program, capped off his senior year by winning both an ACC title and an NCAA title. He finished the season undefeated with a record of 21-0 and achieved a bonus point win rate of over seventy percent. Notably, he secured six victories against ranked opponents in regular-season matches, including a key win over All-American Nick Feldman of Ohio State.

At the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Trumble dominated his weight class by going undefeated through five matches. His wins included defeating Brenan Morgan of Virginia by fall and Younger Bastida of Iowa State by decision in the finals. Throughout all rounds at nationals, he did not allow any takedowns.

This marks NC State’s eleventh ACC Wrestler of the Year award and sixth under head coach Pat Popolizio. The last Wolfpack wrestler to earn this honor was Hayden Hidlay in 2020. Previous winners include Michael Macchiavello (2018), Nick Gwiazdowski (2014-2016), Darrion Caldwell (2007 and 2009), and Sylvester Terkay (1991-1993).

In addition to Trumble’s accolade, three NC State student-athletes—Koy Buesgens at 149 pounds, Matty Singleton at 174 pounds, and Isaac Trumble at heavyweight—were named to the All-ACC team after their performances at this year’s ACC Championship.
