Isaac Trumble of NC State advanced to the national finals at the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Cleveland on March 20, while teammate Vincent Robinson secured All-American status for the second consecutive season.

The results highlight a strong showing for NC State wrestling, with Trumble reaching the championship match at 285 pounds and Robinson continuing his success at 125 pounds. Their performances ensure that NC State will have representation on the final day of competition.

Trumble, a sixth-year competitor, moved through the quarterfinals with a 4-0 victory over Konner Doucet of Oklahoma State. He then clinched his spot in the finals by defeating Taye Ghadiali of Michigan with a late takedown. Trumble is set to face top-seeded Yonger Bastida of Iowa State in the championship session.

Robinson battled through the consolation bracket, defeating Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca in sudden victory and Minnesota’s Jore Volk, also in sudden victory. These wins earned him All-American honors once again and positioned him for a potential third-place finish depending on his next match against Troy Spratley of Oklahoma State.

Other NC State wrestlers narrowly missed podium finishes. Freshman Will Denny lost an 8-7 decision to Andrew Sparks of Minnesota, while redshirt-junior Matty Singleton was defeated by Beau Mantanona of Michigan. Ryan Jack concluded his collegiate career after six seasons and will transition into coaching at KD Training Center.

The tournament continues as Trumble prepares for his championship bout and Robinson looks to improve his placement in upcoming matches.
