The University of Iowa wrestling team secured four individual titles and eight top-five finishes at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Saturday. The Hawkeyes demonstrated strong performances throughout the tournament, accumulating 10 technical falls, six major decisions, and four pins.
At 125 pounds, Keyan Hernandez won the title with a 4-0 record. His victories included a 15-3 major decision over Orion Wilson from Grand Valley State. Kale Petersen earned the championship at 141 pounds by achieving two technical falls and two decisions. Petersen defeated his teammate Jace Rhodes 5-2 in the finals. Rhodes finished as runner-up at 141 after recording three decision wins earlier in the bracket.
Gabe Arnold took first place at 184 pounds with two technical falls and a pin. Harvey Ludington added another title for Iowa at 197 pounds, securing a technical fall, a pin, and a major decision during his matches.
Other notable performances included Joey Cruz finishing third at 125 pounds after five wins that featured two major decisions and a pin. Isaiah Fenton claimed third place at 165 pounds with a technical fall, two major decisions, and a pin. Brody Sampson placed fifth at 197 pounds.
