University of Iowa graduate student Massoma Endene has been named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Friday.

Endene, who is from Dallas, Texas, received the recognition after a close victory over Mac Stout, who is ranked fourth nationally. Endene won the match 5-4 as Iowa defeated No. 19 Pittsburgh with a score of 36-0.

During the bout, Endene was trailing 4-2 but secured a takedown in the final four seconds to win against Stout, a former All-American.

Endene is the second wrestler from Iowa to be recognized as Big Ten Wrestler of the Week this season.

The third-ranked Iowa team will compete again on Sunday at Iowa State at noon for the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series in Ames.
