The University of Iowa men’s wrestling team has announced its full schedule for the 2025-26 season. Head coach Tom Brands shared the details on Thursday, outlining the Hawkeyes’ upcoming matches and tournaments.
The season will begin at home with a dual against Bellarmine on November 6. Iowa will also host Pittsburgh on November 21. On December 12, the team will compete against Chattanooga and Utah Valley in Hannibal, Missouri, as part of Journeymen Wrestling’s “Uncivil War.”
In nonconference road duals, Iowa is set to travel to Iowa State on November 30 and Oklahoma State on February 22. The Hawkeyes will participate in the National Duals Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 15-16, facing Missouri in the opening round at 9 a.m. Central Time.
The new year will start with the Soldier Salute tournament, held January 3–4 at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa. Big Ten home duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena include Wisconsin (January 9), Penn State (January 16), Minnesota (January 30), and Michigan (February 13).
For away league matches, Iowa will travel to Nebraska (January 23), Ohio State (February 6), Michigan State (February 8), and Purdue (February 15).
Postseason competition begins with the Big Ten Championships on March 7-8 in State College, Pennsylvania. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 19-21 in Cleveland.
Reflecting on last season, Iowa finished with a record of 14-1 overall and a 7-1 mark in the Big Ten. The team placed third at the Big Ten Championships and fourth at the NCAA Championships, with five wrestlers earning All-American honors and one securing a national title. Iowa also led the nation in attendance for the eighteenth consecutive year.
