The Indiana University wrestling program will send six athletes to the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships, which are scheduled for March 19-21 in Cleveland, Ohio, according to a March 10 announcement.
This development is significant as it marks the third consecutive year that Indiana has qualified six wrestlers for the national tournament. The last time the program achieved this level of consistency was from 2008 to 2010.
Tyler Lillard (165 pounds) and Sam Goin (184 pounds) received at-large bids following the official release of the tournament field by the NCAA. Four other Hoosiers—Jacob Moran (125), Bryce Lowery (157), Derek Gilcher (174), and Gabe Sollars (197)—secured automatic bids during the Big Ten Championships held recently at Penn State.
Of note, four out of Indiana’s six qualifiers are natives of Indiana. This highlights both local talent and sustained success within the state’s wrestling community.
The team’s continued presence at the national championships reflects ongoing strength in recruiting and athlete development within Indiana University’s wrestling program.
