University of Iowa redshirt freshman Angelo Ferrari has been named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference office on Thursday.
Ferrari, who is from Melissa, Texas, received this recognition after achieving a 4-0 record at the National Duals Invitational held at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the event, he secured victories over No. 4 Zack Ryder (Oklahoma State), No. 7 Dylan Fishback (Ohio State), No. 8 Aeoden Sinclair (Missouri), and No. 26 Chris Moore (Illinois).
This marks the first time this season that a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling team has received the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honor.
The third-ranked Iowa team is scheduled to compete against Pittsburgh on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Central Time at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
